Welcome to episode 1 of the Calgary Gems series, featuring Cael Tucker and Mike McLeod from Tailgunner Brewing Company. Tailgunner was built for craft beer drinkers who appreciate quality beer! The inspiration for the name came from Mike's grandfather, Lint Stephenson, a tail gunner in World War Two. Nestled in Sunalta, Tailgunner is open for service and hoping to become a pillar in the community.
Black Cat Metal
Chris Green's love for history and the art of crafting extends beyond his training in Archaeology and Blacksmithing. He is the mastermind behind Black Cat Metal, a company that specializes in creating custom knives inspired by the greatest cultures in history. Chris's journey to becoming a full-time blacksmith started with his fascination with the Conan the Barbarian movie. From there, he developed a deep love for the craft and has been perfecting his skills ever since. Today, Chris continues to push the boundaries of traditional blacksmithing techniques, creating unique and stunning knives that are as functional as they are beautiful.
Savino Pizzeria
Danny Savino grew up tending his family's vegetable garden and watching his grandmother cook. With a passion for Italian heritage and an entrepreneurial itch, Danny provides the same generational influence for his children. Savino Pizza is a family legacy, and it's the best damn pizza in town!
